| Comments: | 1.1 miles off Interstate 70 exit - Rt 40, north side of road, small green building; must walk down 10 steps; 200 feet east of police station This is a great place to stop before climbing the mountains over the Continental Divide to Winter Park. The town of Empire is only about 300 people but also has a good restaurant. Be on the lookout for bighorn sheep immediately after you exit the interstate and until you start the climb up to the divide. |
