These toilets were designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser as a gift to the town of Kawakawa, where he lived for the last years of his life. What were average small town public toilets are now an architectural masterpiece and have become a tourist attraction in their own right (especially for European visitors who recognize the life work of the man) . The only problem is the number of people who photograph the toilets (both inside and out) . So don't be surprised when somebody takes your photo while you are availing yourself of the facilities.
